Dear Mom, Dad, and family-
It was awesome to talk to you all on the phone and hear everybody!!! Christmas was fantastic and I truly appreciate all the gifts I received. I got lots of food and other stuff from the members of the ward, including a fleece blanket, and so it was a great Christmas. I love the ties, the picture books, everything! Its gonna make packing a bit harder though...
Because my time in Dearborn is officially over. I have spent 4 transfers (almost 6 months) here and now the Lord is moving me elsewhere. I don't know where yet, but I'll be packing all day and leaving tomorrow. Man its exciting!!
So in terms of missionary work this week was very very slow, a lot of people out of town or very busy. We did teach a few people on Saturday, and our investigator Sherry came to church!! I was surprised to see her, she is very hesitant about everything but something keeps her going.
The weathers been crazy too, Saturday it got up to 60 degrees and everything melted! And just a week earlier it was 2 degrees. Unreal.
Friday was good, we had interviews with President which went very well. We also saw the Prescott family, Bro. Prescott is in the Bishopric and asked me to speak on Sunday! So, my last Sunday, I gave a talk on Prayer and scripture study, I guess I did well enough. Luckily enough, they also invited us to dinner that night!
So Sunday night was great, we had dinner and dessert with the Prescotts. They seriously are the coolest, I know I've mentioned them before, but Bro. Prescott is Tongan, in the bishopric, and an Air Marshal (which means he's an undercover cop who goes on airplanes- quite the intense job). Their children are all girls, ages 2, 4,6, and 8, and they're just a ton of fun. So it was a good last Sunday in Dearborn.
But yeah Christmas was awesome, as I already told you we played bball and had breakfast with Bro. Smith, went and saw another family, had dinner at the Villas (another cool family in the ward who had the new rock band which has sweeeet songs on it that made me wish I could play :) and caroled the rest of the evening. It was a good Christmas.
random stuff:
my luggage brand is 'skyline'
I got an email from bishop today mentioning Jeff got called to the California Anaheim mission!!! That's sweet I remember you mentioned he had received his call when we talked on the phone!! Tell him congrats from me, oh and if you can get me his address so I can write him myself.
I used a line from Snow Patrol's song 'Chocolate' in my talk. I was quite proud of myself.
But yeah it was a great week and my last here in Dearborn, I'll update you with an email on Tuesday as to where I am.
love,
Elder Connor Lambert
