Hey Elders-
Things are going awesome here in Michigan. I was recently transferred to a new area, its crazy but amazing. I stayed in my first area for 6 months. Me and my companion 'whitewashed' this area, so neither of us knew anything about it coming in. We're both very excited though. In our first week we already tracted into and taught a very powerful lesson to a lady who seems to be seeking truth, and also met and taught a referral who came to church the very next day. Our areas not really rural at all but isn't necessarily crowded either, though we have a lot of trailer parks haha. Its not really Detroit at all, its surprising how different it is from my last area seeing as its only one area over. I'm very excited to be serving here.
The weather in Michigan is, umm, fun. One Sunday it was 2 degrees, (-15 with windchill), and the next week it was 60 degrees. Usually its in the twenties though, which isn't too bad though I appreciate not having to be on bike in the city right now. People think we're crazy out tracting in the freezing cold, but being a missionary and being crazy is a ton of fun.
The work is slow but so much fun. I'm gonna miss my last area, I was very lucky to see 3 baptisms, which is actually quite good for this mission. Things were slow but started to pick up right as I left, haha, I guess that's how it always happens. Its amazing to see how people seeking the truth just light up when they discover the gospel. Its something that truly changes lives. I only wish more people would listen to the wonderful message we share.
My new comp is sweet, I'm 'killing' him off so I'm learning all I can from him and making sure he doesn't get too trunky. He's from New Jersey but was born and lived in Ghana until he turned 7 or so. He's an awesome guy and a great missionary who actually just served with my trainer.
Its truly amazing how time flies. Christmas day was my 6 month mark and I couldn't even believe it. 1/4th of my mission has just flown by. I can't wait to see what will come these next 6 months. Oh and Elder Meier's doing awesome, he's actually training a new missionary right now, I haven't talked to him for awhile but apparently he's doing awesome.
hope you're all doing well and enjoying the short but amazing time we get to spend serving our Lord
