Dear Mom, Dad, family and such-

Wow this last week was slooooooooowwww.  The first four days were no good- nearly everything was cancelled or else just didn't work out how we wanted it to.  So we basically didn't teach anyone until Saturday.  But Tuesday we went to the car show at the Cobo center downtown, and that was a ton of fun (but also very tiring).  There were tons of really nice cars, way cool concept cars, and fast fast cars- vipers, camaros, lamborginis, mustangs, nearly everything you could ask.  I took a ton of pictures ( yes I do have my other camera card, mom) and so once I get my other card back I'll send those pictures home.
I actually need to get off soon, so this may be split into two emails.  But another highlight of the week was the mission fireside- it was great!!  I saw a bunch of missionaries I know, including Elder Van Bibber and his new trainee aka my little brother (trainers are considered 'fathers').  It was a lot of fun.  We also had a few fun tracting experiences- we ran into some guy from Belize with one crazy accent and beard who was a doctor- he had an amazing carved front door that said Belize on it.  Also, we ran into a scripture-obsessed Jehovah's witness who let us in, and things ended up in a big bible bash.  It was not  the most fun but at the same time hilarious.  JW's only have a few certain points they ever make that they are just obsessed with, and it can actually be quite funny.  Overall its just kind of annoying talking to them since they think they know everything.

Saturday was a blast though.  Elder Bird, my MTC comp, and I had the opportunity to go on exchanges together!! It was a lot of fun, we had a very successful day as well.  We had a fun dinner at a members, a good lesson with Mckayla the 9-year-old, and found a new investigator who had been pondering on things lately and thinking about getting ahold of us again- so basically, we answered his prayer by showing up.  It was a very powerful lesson- there's nothing quite as powerful as someone looking you in the eye and saying they can see in your eyes that what you're saying is true.  Unreal.

but yeah gotta go another email in a second.

hey again-

so yeah saturday was the best day of the week, Elder Bird and I had a blast and had an excellent day. It was fun to actually do missionary work with him- to tract and talk to a ton (58) of people, to teach together again, and all that stuff.  It was great, I really enjoyed it.  We actually teach together very well.  Oh and also the other day some lady was all angry with us about 'becoming gods' so Elder Plange took control, and then the next door as he was still slightly angry he did a fantastic door approach that the guy there couldn't turn down and we got a return appointment.  Its always great to turn negative energy into positive in missionary work.

Sunday was pretty good, though we had yet another bad morning.  But we had dinner that evening with some members who are already good friends, the Williams.  They're very talkative and a lot of fun.  We also stopped by the craziness of Sister Badertshcer and her children- Seth (12) is the only other member besides his mom and is the most sane.  His mom smokes like crazy and has quite the profane mouth, the daughter is autistic like I've previously mentioned and had a seizure earlier this week, and Tony is the one we're teaching who'll hopefully eventually be baptized.  The mom is always angry at at least one of the children and always ratting on everything they do wrong and is very hypocritical, its really quite funny.  We always come away from their home with some new funny story.  We did teach a nice lesson on faith and receiving answers to prayers last night, and it was calm for about five minutes.  But on the way out we told Sis. Badertshcer she shouldn't swear because it doesn't show you love god or your neighbors, and forgive me for putting this in but it was just too funny, so as we leave she yells out the door "I effing love you guys."(without the real words of course).  Haha anyways, its always quite the trip when we go over there.  I yelled back "I'm offended" just to let her know.  But yeah hopefully that gives you a glimpse of the fun times we have over there.

Things are good, my comps getting a little trunky as he has only two weeks left!!! Man this transfer has gone by crazy.  The weather wasn't too bad this week, it hasn't really snowed and hasn't been too cold (usually twenties occasionally teens, not too much wind at all).  This next week should be good, I'm really hoping we'll get people progressing towards baptism and find someone else who is ready to learn this message.  Things may have been slow, but there is always something new to look forward to in this gospel!!!

love,

Elder Connor Tarek Lambert
