Mom, Dad, and family:

It was great to hear about Mike's wedding and everything.  Sounds like that was a lot of fun, I can't believe it already happened!  Dang the mission chain started a few years ago, and now the wedding chain has started.  Crazy.  Oh and I also can't believe Braden comes home next month!! Wow!  Then it'll be just me and Ryan out for Grandpa and Grandma Simmons.

Thats awesome you talked to and saw Karl's mom as well.  Yeah their cabin in Heber is amazing.

The most exciting thing that happened this week was exchanges.  I went with Elder Maxwell, Kyle's friend who I met in California.  It was fun, he actually reminds me of Kyle quite a bit.  Oh and I got to drive finally!!  I have been approved so I can drive when I need to now.

One fun thing on exchanges is we helped an old lady rake up all of the leaves in her back yard and then talked with her a little bit.  She's 84 and is from the Netherlands, she moved from Amsterdam in the 50s I believe.  She was so kind and gave us hot chocolate, and it was awesome to be able to help someone out.  So many people in their pride just won't let us help, but when you get to its always great.

Another thing is voting was on Tuesday.  We were worried if Barack Obama lost then there would be riots in Detroit, but he won (though we wouldn't have been surprised if there were victory riots either.)  It was hard that day cuz people always asked us about voting but we can't talk about politics, so it was semi-annoying.

Another highlight of the week was Tony passed the sacrament in church for the first time, so that was awesome.

I hope things go well for Landon and  Cameron in basketball, its so weird its already basketball season.  Time as a missionary is so much different than time as a regular person.  I wish them the best and hope they just stay confident!!

random things:

The mission says if anyone wants to send me presents to send them to the mission office rather than directly to me.  I'm sure regular packages from you can be sent right to me, but Christmas stuff I guess goes to the office.

Thanksgiving will be our preparation day for that week, so I'm not sure when I'll email but it may not be on regular mondays like usual.

wow byu-utah is gonna be intense this year, you have to record it for me!!!  And how are they all doing in the rankings- man if BYU wins then it'll be a three-way split between them all!  Crazy!

I really shouldn't need money for food or anything mom, but maybe sometime I'll need some for clothes, but for now its nothing to worry about I've been able to budget my money quite well.

i haven't been on Facebook don't worry. I left Melissa Connor and Hannah Hosking in charge and apparently they're abusing their rights so I'm going to rebuke them for it.  don't worry about me mom I'm pretty sure I'm a lot better on focusing on the work than a lot of missionaries.  I don't really even get homesick, no offense to any of you haha but I just don't really let it get to me and I don't do anything to be worried about.

The church is true, the Book of Mormon is the most correct book on earth, and the work is moving!  I heard a lady talk about how her church fell apart, and thought of how there is nothing that can or will destroy this church, it is here to stay until the second coming.  Even in the early years amidst great persecution, nothing could stop God's kingdom from growing.  I actually recently finished "Our Heritage," the only missionary library book I have left to read is "True to the Faith" which is just an encyclopedia thing.

keep praying and reading!!

love,

Elder Connor Tarek Lambert
